Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

SUMMARY

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth book in the Harry Potter series, where Harry is in his fourth year at Hogwarts.

The book starts with Harry having a weird dream about Voldemort (the dream has been described at the beginning of the book), and wakes up with a tingling sensation in his scar (he writes about it to Sirius later on).

On and on, the Weasleys come and get Harry so they could go to the Quidditch World Cup. There a situation happens where some death eaters attack the campsites, causing terror among the muggles and also the witches and wizards. Someone fires the Dark Mark at the sky, and that makes the death eaters Apparate away from the site.

After returning to Hogwarts, everyone comes to know that this year, the Triwizard Tournament will be held at Hogwarts! And we get to meet the very “friendly” professor Alastor ‘Mad – Eye’ Moody. October comes, and the other two schools, Beauxbatons Academy and Durmstrang Institute, arrives at Hogwarts. By the way, an age limit (17) has been put for the safety of the students who will be chosen as the three champions.

On Halloween, the Goblet of Fire chooses the three champions. Viktor Krum from the Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour from the Beauxbatons, and Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts. BUT, BUT, BUT. Another parchment has come out from the Goblet of Fire with the name of HARRY POTTER. My, my! Now Harry is the fourth champion and is bound to participate in the three tasks. But he didn’t put his name in the goblet.

Who put his name in the goblet? Whoever put his name, do they knowingly put it to put Harry in danger? What is going to happen in the Triwizard Tournament? Will Harry be able to complete the tasks? And, is Voldemort getting any stronger? To find the answers to all this questions along with many more other, you have to read the marvelous book!

REVIEW

The fourth book is quite scary for a child (and an adult too), to be honest. Death, terror, everything mixed up, makes it way darker than the previous books. It keeps on getting terrifying and dangerous every moment. The Triwizard Tournament, the “reincarnation” of a certain dark wizard, death of a kind boy, it definitely is going to give you the creeps.

All things aside, this book is a must for every new and avid reader, and I will definitely recommend this book to everyone who breathes books along with oxygen.
