SUMMARY
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or Sorcerer’s Stone) is the book from where we, along with Harry, begin our journey to the magical world of witches and wizards in the school of magic, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The book starts with Harry being kept at the doorsteps of the Dursleys, who were the only known relatives of Harry, by Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall and Rubeus Hagrid. Harry kept on sleeping, with a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead, oblivious to the fact that witches and wizards all over the world were celebrating that day.
On and on, Harry, on his 11th birthday, came to know that he’s a wizard. Now it is September 1st. Harry is at the King’s Cross Station, looking for platform 9 ¾, from which he would have to board the Hogwarts Express. There he met the Weasleys. Oh, what a lovely “small” family! And Harry met his first and later on, best friend, Ronald ‘Ron’ Weasley.
After coming to Hogwarts, on his first year, he officially made Draco Malfoy his arch enemy (Draco and Harry had already met when Harry had gone to Madam Malkins Robes shop, but they didn’t know each other then), and also met his other best friend after fighting an adult troll, Hermione Granger. The sorting hat put him in Gryffindor, by the way.
With the teeny tiny naïve help from Malfoy, Harry became the youngest seeker in a century of his house’s Quidditch team.

With the help of Ron and Hermione, Harry had to face numerous adventures regarding the Philosopher’s (or Sorcerer’s) stone, fighting Voldemort (Want to who he is? Start reading the books then) face to face after 10 years. What would happen to Harry? Will he be able to survive Voldemort again? What would happen to Voldemort? And last, but not the least, what is the Philosopher’s (or Sorcerer’s) stone?

REVIEW
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (or Sorcerer’s) Stone is the first book which introduces us to the very charming magical world where Harry and his friends grow up. It’s a book full of unknown creatures, magical spells, charms, curses, good vs evil, never heard of plants, potions and many more.
Those who have already read the books, you would definitely understand that I’m not exaggerating when I say that Harry Potter series is a must read for every age group, for it is not only amazing, it is addictive, adventurous, full of teenage romance (ehm ehm), amusing, breathtakingly beautiful, engaging and extremely exciting. One could read the books with bated breath, anticipating what is going to happen next.
I would highly recommend this book for new readers and also bookworms who haven’t read this amazing book. Give it a shot, and I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
