Summary:
Asylum, written by Madeleine Roux, is the first book of the Asylum series where we get introduced to the story’s main protagonists Dan, Abby and Jordan, along with Felix.
The story starts with Dan Crawford arriving at the NHCP (New Hampshire College Prep) campus, and while looking at the Brookline, the former sanatorium (commonly called asylum), which has been housed as the dorm rooms for the students, he got his creeps and felt as if something is wrong.
On arriving in his dorm room, Dan finds an odd photo of a man with eyes scratched out by a pen in a drawer in his room. When Dan tells his roommate, Felix, an “overenthusiastic” guy, he learns that the former warden’s office of the asylum is on the first floor and there are more photos there.
He later meets Abby, who he immediately gets attracted to, and Jordan, Abby’s new found friend in the summer program. Together they go to basement (the warden’s office) and finds lots of photographs, gruesome, weird, and creepy.
With Abby and Jordan, Dan jumps into the adventure of finding the truth about Brookline asylum, and the connections they have with it. Will they be able to unearth the truth and what exactly used to go inside the asylum, that is completely the opposite what everyone thought? And who can they trust among them? Will something unexpected happen that would change their whole world upside down? What are you waiting for? Start reading this addictive book right away!
