Sanctum

SUMMARY:

Sanctum, written by Madeleine Roux, is the second book in the Asylum series, where we again meet Dan, Abby and Jordan, Professor Reyes AND Felix, along with many more new characters, e.g. Micah, Lara and Cal.

The story starts with Dan, Abby and Jordan getting old carnival photographs from an unknown source, with the words “You’re not finished” written over them. Then Dan visits Felix, who is now in a psychiatric hospital, and he urges Dan to follow a list of numbers. Later, Jordan discovers that the numbers are GPS coordinates for addresses around the campus where the college and Brookline stand.

On and on, the trio goes to the New Hampshire College for a prospective students’ weekend to further investigate, following the clues they have. As they begin to explore, they track down the addresses given by Felix, which they find to be associated with the “genius” warden in some way. While they uncover the truths, a secret society donning skull masks and red capes known as the Scarlets hone in on Dan, Abby, and Jordan.

Dan, Abby and Jordan take a mission to unearth the bloody history of Camford, facing many a danger in their path. Will they be able to discover the terrible past? What did the warden actually do to his patients? And who are the ‘Scarlets’?

REVIEW:

Sanctum takes us deeper into the horrifying history of Camford, and lets us connect missing puzzle pieces. It is a chilling novel, and is extremely exciting that one would wait with bated breaths to know what happens next.

I really love this book, and would highly recommend this to bookworms, especially those who have a keen interest for mystery and thrillers stories.
