SUMMARY
Date Me, Bryson Keller is a gay romance book written by Kevin Van Whye. Its main protagonists are Kai Sheridan and Bryson Keller.
The book starts with us getting a background detail of Kai Sheridan, a mixed-race young boy of 17, and his family. He is like an everyday normal boy, except the fact that he is gay, and he hasn’t come out yet. We also come to know that his parents are orthodoxly religious and think that homosexuality is a sin. Well, that increases Kai’s fear of coming out to his parents more.
On and on, in a party, Bryson Keller, the golden boy of Fairvele Academy, is given a dare. The dare is that he has to date a person every week who asks him out first on Mondays. Now, it seemed like all the girls who have just fantasized of dating Bryson, might have a chance to actually date him, even if it’s for a week. But it was never mentioned that only girls can ask him out.
So, one day, Kai, after mustering up as much courage as he could, asked Bryson out. Well, Bryson did agree after understanding that Kai wasn’t joking, but little did they know that this one dare would change their life forever.
REVIEW
Date Me, Bryson Keller is one of the cutest and sweetest romance books I’ve ever read. It is filled with love, and romance. It covered up many of the real situations and problems that the LGBTQA+ community has to go through every day (all the homophobic jokes and all), and spread the message that “love is love is love” in a simple yet elegant and beautiful way.
All aside, I really love this book and would highly recommend this to every reader, especially romance book lovers.
