The Scarlets

SUMMARY

The Scarlets is a prequel novel of the Asylum series, written by Madeleine Roux. This story is from Cal’s point of view, with characters of professor Reyes, Cal’s father Roger, Micah, Lara and his tutor, Fallon.

The story starts with Cal meeting his father, Roger, who was telling him to sober up, because Cal was always drunk when he came to class. Roger then told Cal that he is going to stay in Camford and get a tutor. On and on, we meet Fallon, Cal’s tutor, who is a pro hacker. She informs Cal that she was going to pry in Roger’s files and she if her doubts about something fishy going on is true or not.

Later, Roger comes up to Cal and gives him a task to plant a camera in Fallon’s room to see if she’s prying on their secret, which consists of a group of people called the Scarlets. And Roger literally forced Cal to join that group to keep up their reputation.

Will Cal join the group? Will he plant the camera in Fallon’s room? What will be the consequences if he doesn’t? To know all the answers, grab a copy and start reading!

REVIEW

This book is an amazing prequel. It shows us how Cal really was before joining the group. He was still fighting to get out of it, but, well, we don’t get everything we want in our life. It is a really good book and would recommend it to everyone, but first and foremost, you have to read the Asylum series’ three books, to understand better.
